2 Corinthians 9:6 (KJV)
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Tom's Thoughts
I was preaching in a church, in Indiana, and the pastor told the people to pray and ask the Lord how much He wanted them to put in the offering plate as a love offering. After they prayed, he told them to put in the first number that came to their mind, and not the second number. He told them that the first number was the amount that God wanted them to give. The second number was what they wanted to give. We have a tendency to pray, and keep praying until we think the Lord gave us a lower number.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
